WASHINGTON (WNEW) — A D.C. police officer and pastor has been arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree sex abuse of a minor.
Investigators say a 16-year-old girl reported that she was a victim of 45-year-old Darrell Best of Upper Marlboro three times starting in December.
The affidavit says Best had been counseling the teen at the God of a Second Chance Ministry on Southern Avenue in Southeast D.C., where he is the church’s senior pastor and founder…
The first time the abuse allegedly occurred, Best told the girl he was going to take her out in the community and show her the plight of young single women with children.
She told police Best was wearing a belt with a gun, badge, handcuffs and a baton.
